imperial = logical

The imperial system is so logical:

1 drachm = 27.34 grains
1 ounce = 16 drachms
1 pound = 16 ounces
1 stone = 14 pounds
1 quarter = 2 stones
1 hundredweight = 112 pounds
1 long ton = 20 hundredweights

The first one that dares to say that the imperial system isn't logical and rational, is blind ! That's the reason why children find it so easy to learn...

It's not rational; it's empirical.

Experience teaches us how much our
stones weigh. The system is Impirical.

IN GIRUM IMUS NOCTE
ET CONSUMIMUR IGNI

we go in circles by night
and are consumed by fire.

The force that would be called a "quarter" in
that scheme is E-42 of the basic unit force
central to the geometric theory of gravity
(c**4/G) fourth power of speed of light divided
by the universal constant of gravity. Hang on
to the quarter if you can--it looks like it
might be worth something someday.

Bill,
Perhaps we should only learn single syllable words to make life easier?

Wouldn't that be more "interesting"!

I have explained this in another thread. The end. And they all lived happily ever after. Really the end. Apart from Eubobbie, BOB (they are one and the same), APP and Ralf. The End.
