Martin,

Regarding your statement of January 13th.

"His Imperial & Royal Majesty Napoleon Emperor's Republic of Europe & Napoleon King's Republic of Italy Decadent Weights & Measures scheme, is now referred to as the Systeme International."

Can we NOT discuss the word "international".

My french-english dictionary shows the following:

(french) "systeme" = (english) "system"

Every man, woman & child in every organized society on this Planet Earth understands feet, inches, fluid ounces, fluid drams, avoirdupois ounces, avoirdupois pounds, and so forth, because the Common Weights & Measures system is a system.

Because everyone understands the system, everyone understands the Common Weights & Measures system because it complies with the system.

Martin, can you answer one of the two questions below about the word "system(e)" in the phrase "Systeme (system) International" that you have previously mentioned.

1. Is the word "system(e)" in the phrase "Systeme (system) International" a mistake. If so, is there any known reason why the mistake was made.

2. Is the word "system(e)" in the phrase "Systeme (system) International" supposed to mean a system. If so, what is that system: that is, how does that system work. If it is known how that system works, does anyone know of anythree or anytwo or anyone anywhere in any world who use/s or has/have used or will use or might use that system.

Martin, if you are unfamiliar with the stere, are, metre, heure, litre, gravre, and centigrade of the Napoleon Emperor's Republic of Europe Decadent Weights & Measures scam, have a look at site:

Firstly, I agree fully with Pete.

Since it appears that XCOLE and I use different frames of reference, would he please answer a few questions first so that we can agree on a frame of reference.

1. In which country do you now live? I live in the United Kingdom.

2. Have you ever lived or worked in any other countries? I have lived in South Africa and have worked in South Africa, Netherlands, Germany and Italy.

3. Which countries have you visited other than those listed above? I have visited about thirty different countries mainly in Africa and Europe. If you wish, I will list them once you have replied to my questions.

4. Have you ever consulted any web sites connected with weights and measures other than www.weights-and-measures.com which you seem to list every time you post anything. I have visited many which are in English, French, German and Dutch.

5. If you have not visited any other sites connected with weights and measure, why not?

6. Do you have any connection with either Rory Eli Cole the Elder (A resident of Vermont in 1826) or with Rory Eli Cole the Younger (who registered a copyright on the book in 2002)? I have no connection with either.

7. If you are connected with Eli Rory Cole the Younger, what additions do dhe make to the book that warrant him taking out a copyright on it?

Once you have given a satisfactory answer to these questions, I will answer your questions. At least I will know what experience you have and I will know at what level to answer.

I for my part would *love* to meet that guy. Either that guy is completely mad, or he has the weirdest sense of humour I've ever seen.
