Follow the Metric Resistance

'Follow the Metric Resistance' is the advice of, er, 'The Metric Resistance', an American hard rock band based in New York.

On their website, at www.themetricresistance.com/bio.html, they say they consist of Chris Schmelke (bass), George Walfisch (drums), Damon Black (vocals), and David Roman (guitar).

They say the following about themselves:

"The Metric Resistance is an underground effort to end the metrication of America and the world. You and your neighbours need not be silent against your would-be oppressor any longer. The resistance was originally formed in Queens, New York, and has since spread to Manhattan with branches in Bellerose and Brooklyn. Strength is in numbers and they are in our favour.

"Studies have shown that an overwhelming majority of people still think in pounds, feet and inches, and miles, as opposed to their supposed metric equivalents.

"The Metric Resistance believes that, contrary to what 'they' would have you think, one inch will never equal 2.54 centimetres.

"Refuse to live in a world that is divided by 10. Join the movement and follow The Metric Resistance"

Strange that they have called themselves the 'metric' resistance.

Surely the word before resistance should be the thing they're supporting, as in the French Resistance.

I was trying to be polite so I avoided saying that.
