On last night's 'Sketch Show':

Market Trader: "Best tomatoes, 80p. a pound. Best tomatoes, 80p. a pound".

Policeman walks up: "Excuse me, Sir, under European Union Regualations, you must use metric"

Market Trader: "Best tomatoes, 80p. a metre"


[Significant, as it ridicules the hated metric system, and makes a political point about the source of it]

This is at least the second comedy show to feature a metric element.

You've obviously completely missed the point. I think it actually it ridicules the fact that such a trivial thing has been turned into a major issue.

Could just as easily be a piece of straight-forward light hearted comedy.

Which I have to say I find quite funny.

I saw this and throughot that programme they used metric otherwise.

There was an animation on the beeb the other day where a bloke came out of gaol, asked for a 1/4lb of cola cubes, but was told he could only have a kilo etc
