The Great Pyramid

On channel 5 right now is a programme on the great pyriad stacked with measurements- all Imperial.

On a related point, many scholars believe that the egyptians contructed the pyramid using a "sacred" cubit equal to a decimal fraction of the Earth's radius- almost exactly 25". And, there is evidence that they used units equal to 1/25 and 1/100 of these cubits, known as primitve inches and pyramid units.

Foot, Cubit and Great Pyramid

Bryan,

Please refer to my postings under the thread: "The Foot is One Thousandth of a Second" under 'Questions to BWMA' and have a look at the link I give.

The Great Pyramid, by the way, has a number of unique features not found in any of the other pyramids. The interior passages and chambers are of especial note

That thread's too crowded, but your initial message was interesting. i would like to say that:

There are 6 trillion inches to the sun, as I recall,
the distance from moon to earth is 60 times our radius (and, actually, we could go on, so I'll stop with just these).

Also, note that the metre is derived from the earth's circumference by way of the centesimal system, but the sexagesimal system is more perfect, observe:

count finger segments- 12 in all- of left hand with left thumb. Count the dozens on the digits of your right hand. Once all of your right hand digits have been extended once and then contracted, this is one full manoeuvre. Three fulls manoeuvres- for mental, memory etc reason- equals one complete cycle. That is:

12 x 5 x 2 x 3 = 360 degrees in a circle, and all on our two hands.

Sun and Moon

re (Bryan): "...the distance from moon to earth is 60 times our radius"

REPLY: Perhaps of even more interest is the fact that the distance of the earth from the sun is x times greater than that of the earth from the moon (about 375-odd, if memory serves) - whilst the diameter of the sun is precisely the same times greater than that of the moon - meaning that the moon precisely covers the sun during a full eclipse

This is all luck though, right? The moon use to be much closer to us, so... maybe there is a God, you know. I mean, perhaps there is some stock in it all. I don't know..which is the problem- I'm an agnostic!

5 Questions

August 10 2003, 12:33 PM

re (Bryan): "The moon used to be much closer to us..."

5 QUESTIONS:

Did it?

Who says?

How much closer was it?

When was that?

What (scientific) proof is there?
