Atkins dietAugust 17 2003 at 9:02 PM | vicki |
| - My sister is keen to shed those few extra little pounds via the Atkins diet and asked me to get a copy of it from a friend who has lost 8lb (had to keep off the booze though). Glancing through this particular diet sheet I noticed that metric and imperial were both used with the assumption that people would have enough gump to understand. One of the reasons given for compulsery metrication is that ordinary people (i.e. you and me) could not cope with two systems. Isn't it nice that the "We know What's Good For You" people at the DTI, Consumers Association, National Consumer Council, National Federation of Consumer Councils (or whatever moniker they give themselves now) et al have been proved wrong. Wouldn't it be nice if the WKWGFY people could take a long holiday and leave the ordinary people to get on with living as they wish to live. |

According to the Telegraph today, the doctor responsible for saying that the Atkins diet is bad for you has been paid £10K to look into the benifits of "high carb" diets by a flour producers association.
Add that one to your list of evil conspiracies! |

The benefit in a high carb diet is that you can invoke diabetes and take up two seats on an aeroplane.
