| - Has anyone seen the BT "Tiny Tina" giant doll advert?
It looks like the Spinal Tap "Stone Henge" gag has finally been metricated.
How dare they!
Better start a letter writing campain to demand that traditional units are restored to this ancient and well loved joke. |

Then I suggest you get hold of a copy of "This is Spinal Tap" on DVD.
One of the finest comedies known to mankind. |

Has this anything to do with "The comic strip presents" brigade?
I remember something about it from the 80's |

Nope. Nothing to do with Comic Strip Presents.
It was released in 1984 and stars three ex-Saturday Night Live american comics as the members of an English heavy metal band called Spinal Tap.
Harry Shearer, who plays Derek Smalls(Bass), now provides the voices for Montgomery Burns and Ned Flanders on The Simpsons.
Basically, it's a spoof "Rockumentary" movie which follows the once legendary band on their final US tour.
It's jam packed full of classic moments including Nigel Tufnel(guitar) showing off his amps that go upto 11 instead of 10 ("It's one louder, isn't it?") and Derek Smalls setting of the airport X-ray machine with foil wrapped veg stuffed down the front of his skin tight jeans.
All this as well as the Stone Henge gag and songs such as Big Bottom ("Talk about mud flaps, my girl's got 'em").
If you haven't seen it, you've missed out. | |
