I thought I saw him post very recently?

Anyway - he might be on holiday, but that's not excuse - what about cyber cafes? (ONLY JOKING!!!)

As for you other question, does anyone else recognise it? Surely BWMA might?

On topic...

This is an hilarious post by our old friend "euric". I haven't cut'n'pasted the textdue to strong language and the etiquette of this board, but it can't be missed if you don't mind "colourful" language! (loved the phone box reference)

h/a

Steve,

Regarding your spelling of h/a on July 1st @ 5.18 p.m.

Steve, we all accept that the names of the various units of His Imperial & Royal Majesty Napoleon Emperor's Republic of Europe Decadent Weights & Measures scheme are confusing.

But, Steve, most folks find that the spellings of the various units of the N.E.R.E. scheme are pretty simple.

m/m/m/a = millimillimilliare'
c/m/m/a = centimillimilliare'
di/m/m/a = decimillimilliare'
m/m/a = millimilliare'
c/m/a = centimilliare'
di/m/a = decimilliare'
m/a = milliare'
c/a = centiare'
di/a = deciare'
-/a = are'
da/a = deca-are'
h/a = hectoare'
k/a = kiloare'
da/k/a = deackiloare'
h/k/a = hectokiloare'
k/k/a = kilokiloare'
da/k/k/a = decakilokiloare'
h/k/k/a = hectokilokiloare'
k/k/k/a = kilokilokiloare'

Challenge for xcole

July 2 2004, 10:00 PM

Dear xcole,

Take the symbols c, k, h, m, d, D, M and see how many distinct ways they can be written out separated by / (using each symbol once and only once)

e.g.

c/k/m/d/h/D/M = centikilomillidecihectodecamega
d/c/M/m/h/D/k = decicentimegamillihectodecakilo

etc.

I'll give you a clue, there are 5040 of them.

See if you can spot them all and let us see your list.

Enjoy!
