Snooker: Murphy 'inching towards the trophy' - BBC

As the world's premier snooker contest at The Crucible, Sheffield, draws to a dramatic finale, the BBC announced a few minutes ago:
"A 64 break put Murphy out of Stevens' reach and inches him towards the trophy..."
I had a dekko at the size of snooker tables on the internet and on the first web page I visited I came across this - something else that no doubt will stick in the craw of those metric zealots at the U.K. Metric Association.
A massive metal frame with six legs supports the weight of the high quality natural slate. The 12 foot slate bed snooker table boasts eight legs, all other sizes have six legs. The cushions and surface are covered with the highest quality cloth and give a superb action. The Oak finish makes for a beautiful peice of furniture, however, it's practicality can be enhanced with the addition of Diner Top which converts the slate bed snooker table into a dining table.

Strange, the table is in Imperial, but the balls are in metric.
Could be that the balls are imported.
Don't the British have balls anymore?

Note the first item: A 6 foot table with dimensions of: 1785 x 955 x 815 (h)mm. 6 feet is 1829 mm, yet none of the actual dimensions shown is 1829 mm? Why is that? and notice the weights are ALL in kilograms. Why is that Tony?
Don't go here Tony, you'll go blind. The rules for snookers is all metric, with nice, crispy rounded numbers:

I notice Tony never posts the link to the page he posts. Somehow I think the page has metric on it and he doesn't want us to go to the page and see it. By not providing the link he edits out the metric and in his usual deception makes it look like it wasn't there.

I saw some of the snooker on the TV.
I like the white ball because it gets to push the others around.
But it's not my game - all those different coloured balls - kinda freaky.

All the "board" type ball games are imperial.
Everyone knows that.
To claim otherwise would be as silly as saying that the "100 metres dash" was officially imperial or that records are metric.
Who on earth is making this claim?
[pause]
Ah.

In the case of the chess boards mentioned in the previous post, the word "Imperial" has nothing to measurements, rather it is a marketing term used for the style of the board's finish. Other boards advertised include the Petrosian and the Capablanca boards.

Just a suggestion martin. Why not get your medication checked? The liver pills don't seem to be working properly.
Btw: Why the insecurity about your name? Most people prefer to use an initial capital letter.
