have we a member in Gloucestershire who can keep an eye out for metric signs? While driving through Sodbury I saw a finger sign with a horse & rider pointing out a bridle path with 4 (or whatever)Km to Badmington. Also the Forestry Commission's Westonbirt Aboretum has signs giving the entrance in metres.
The Forestry Commission appear to have gone metric in a big way. Signs in Hertfordshire giving the distance to a wood at 300 metres have been amended to yards. Another set of signs in a forest near Woodbridge, Suffolk, have been reported and we propose to amend them after getting a negative reply from the Commission.
