Active Resistance to Metication Council

Members of the Council of Active Resistance to Metrication met today. In the light of the continuation of the decision by the British courts and government to treat Englishman Steve Thoburn and the other metric martyrs as criminals, our campaign to remove, by whatever means are appropriate, signs on the British landscape in foreign measures, will be escalated from today.
We continue to draw inspiration and encouragement from the speech by Sir Patrick Moore at the last annual meeting of British Weights and Measures Association in which he advised direct action to save our weights and measures from obliteration. We invite all those appalled by the Appeal Court's verdict in the Thoburn case today to join us in the great campaign to keep Britain's road and pedestrian signs *English*. You can participate with our campaign at various levels.
Relying on polite representations to ruling politicians and interesting legal submissions to judges for the preservation of our weights and measures *IS NOT WORKING*.
