Mirror, Mirror on the WallApril 1 2002 at 7:26 PM | Council of Active Resistance to Metrication |
| - In relation to certain messages posted recently on this battle board, it should be noted that psychologists have frequently observed that those engaged in abusing others (a) have run out of arguments themselves and (b) are usually holding up a mirror to themselves i.e. the very things they accuse others of apply to themselves

No surprises there then - what does that say about strength of arguments?
BTW there is a difference between abuse and accurate observations
YOu may be interested to look up about underachieving behaviour, inferiority complexes and obsessive, compulsive behaviour, denial and fear of change. lso self-delusory behaviour, local logic, splitting (as a behavioural trait).
Also Jung has interesting things to say about personality types
What team roles (See Prof M Belbin) do you think that you tend to prefer?

Nice to see you're back - talking the usual insulting cr*p again! |

Nice to be appreciated, SteveH!
And thanks for pointing out that I talk "cr*p"!
Reminds me of what my parents always told me when they kept stumbling into my room while I was right in the middle of.. (well I was a teenager then).
They said I'd always be a loser!
Hence you can understand that all the name-calling that I aim at "ARM" are really a sad reflection on how I see myself. |

A refeshingly candid and open response. Thank You.
I am sorry to hear about the troubles of your youth, but I'm sure venting your anger at a group of people who want to retain the British measurement system is an odd way of "getting back".
Why don't you use all that tormented energy and direct it at this silly government who seem hell bent on removing everything that's uniquely British about Britain? Are you not infuriated that they didn't seek our permission when they decided to scrap our lb and oz in the supermarkets?
Vent your spleen in the right direction! You can make a difference! |

Got it wrong again
The Anon above is really ARM or, more probably, Steve pretending - true or not Mr Humphries?
Note:
STILL NO ANSWERS
ARM and their pals must be REALLY unsure of their position
note:
There is a difference between name-calling and observation
ARM and their pals must be really unhappy at how accurate the observations are
note:
The ARM (or false) Anon above managed to demonstrate (without much sublety, wit or imagination) the truth of what he or she was saying - about himself or herself.
Needs to get thier inspiration frmom somewhare else than the Sun or the Sport
Note:
ARM and their pals have assured themselves of their place in history alongside the Wreckers and Ned Ludd
Note:
THEY STILL HAVN'T GOT THe COURAGE OR STRENGTH OF THEIR CONVICTIONS TO ANSWER THE QUESTIONS!
Makes the observations even more true |

To "anonymous"
Please stop getting wound up!
If you post as a real name then maybe (just maybe) people might take you seriously! Posting with a real name would stop "pretenders" since it is bad "netiquette" to pretend to be someone - but if you keep posting as anonymous you just show your cowardly side and are totally open to farce since you are asking for it yourself.
Now try ginving yourself a net-name - even if it's just the letter "A".
By the way you're not very clever are you?
Good job you don't work for the police force!
P.S. A pshychiatrist would have a field day with your posts!

Thanks fot putting me right, SteveH - using "anonymous" is a bit stupid - a bit like me all over!
Nice to see you STILL HAVEN'T ANSWERED THE QUESTION!!!
Here's another: If I were a Dog, would the kindest action to take be to "put me to sleep"??
Answer - I wish someone would! This prolonged thing I call "my life" is getting right on my nerves! |

So which question would you like me to answer, you funny man?
No I would not put you to sleep! Assuming you were human I would suggest corrective psychiatric action.
Talk to your doctor - he will advise, this is out of scope of this discussion thread, sorry. |

Easily pleased
"A pshychiatrist would have a field day with your posts"
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Yeah, right
You know a lot about psychiatry, do you?
That I doubt.
Maybe you could get a badge then in an "Active Service Unit"
Along with Ned Ludd & pals
As for the false anon
Well, (s)he took you in
But then you definately are not very clever
I've been told it's been proved (depending upon your thoughts on the validity of the concept of proof)
Anyway
I'm leaving this board
I've come to the concusion that you are an irritating, but harmless and unimportant little group
A sideshow
And I hate having a battle of wit with an unarmed person
BTW does the AR in ARM stabd for Anally Retentive?
Steve probably knows a lot about that
Bye Bye losers |

To "A NON"...
Somehow I don't think you know much about psychology especially by looking at that last post!!! It made me laugh, it's like visualising the Pope having a pint with Ian Paisley!
Now here's psychology for you....
YOU ARE READING THIS POST!!
But do you respond? | |
