Signs at London ZooMay 19 2002 at 10:37 PM | Polly Peck, Information Officer, ARM |
| - Four metric signs have been spotted outside London Zoo, three giving distances to the car park; two say '300 metres' and one says '100 metres', and another one says '200 metres' to the entrance

London Zoo were not entirely happy with the amendments carried out by an ARM supporter to the signs at the approaches to London Zoo. So they've repainted the signs in their own lettering - *but this time in yards* - another Imperial victory!
We were right about the distance to the Zoo car park on the northern pavement. It used to read '100 metres', but now says '170 yards'. A victory for accuracy as well as for customary measures

Which disproves the claim that metric units are more accurate. | |
