Military and Public?

The only question is - is Queen's Road a public highway within the meaning of DPP-v-Jones (the Stonehenge case)? If so, then the metric signs are not lawful, military road or non-military road

Lets not get carried away by technicalities. If somebody decides to unilaterly modify these signs just as the Aldershot garrison receives an alert regarding an [IRA/Iraqi] threat, that person might be having to do some rapid explaining while looking up the wrong end of an automatic weapon.
