Raj Saghavi of Kent CC on Metric Road Signs

New Project Engineer for Kent County Council Highways Department - and responsible for highway signing - is one Mr Raj Sanghavi (rajsanghavi@maidstone.gov.uk).

Writing to a local ratepayer about illegal metric signs at Button Lane, Bearsted (near Maidstone), he says (8 August 2002):

"..I entirely agree with your sentiment that metric signs along adoptable/adopted highways in this country are illegal...I will once again write to you, hopefully next week, to inform you of the action that will be taken to regularise the situation".

A much better answer than many we have got from Highways Department staff with English-sounding surnames
