<<<Andy - do you honeslty think the EU one looks good?>>>

I think they look better than the bland ones with nothing on, yes - but I agree with you the ones with national flags look even better. You don't see so many of them in England.

I really don't think the avergae person sees the "EU link" (I didn't until I came on here) - they just see it as the letters "GB" and a splash of colour.

<<<Personally - I'm glad it's become a "chav badge".>>>

I think the national flag ones are more of a chav badge though, with the accompanying italic lettering

Personally I would be in favour of having the blue GB thing on one side, and the national flag on the other. Our numberplates are very bland compared to those in other countries. I like the ones in the States and Switzerland with colourful regional badges

Erm,

so that Nova thing that i gave as an example wouldn't look like a chav-mobile?

Seriously - next time you're driving around take a look - you see eu style plates on chav-mobiles (NOT eng, cym, sco ones). Also you see them on cars owned by people who can afford to chuck money at the EU project. In my mind - both of those groups are tw....

[language timothy!]

P.S. THe other group are people who have inherited the plate via a shops who actually think we like them

Round my way the chavs tend to have an england flag on their plates. It goes well with the england shirt and burberry baseball cap.

Think about it. If any group of people is likely to avoid EU-style numberplates, its the chavs!

The chavs won't know what the EU is - besides being able to spell it.

Hence why "those plates look well cool". The EU ones.
