Fingerpost sign success - East Lothian

William W Scott

With reference to the metric signs I have at last made real progress. I quote from the most recent letter received from East Lothian Council dated 17th August 2001.

PEDESTRIAN FINGERPOST SIGNS

"I refer to your letter of 13 August 2001 regarding the above. I can confirm that work is ongoing on removing the metric distances from the cast iron fingerpost signs. Musselburgh and Tranent are now complete and the remaining towns will have the distances removed. The programming of this work will depend on available resources and other priorities and while I cannot give you an exact date when this work will be carried out, I assure you that it will be done as soon as possible."

It has been a long hard struggle but feel it has been well worth the effort.
Kind regards,
William
