250ml milk advertised as "half-pint"

Information passed to BWMA: shop within Charing Cross railway station describes 250ml cartons of milk as "1/2 pint" on the shelf-edge label.

250ml is the equivalent of only 0.44 pints; therefore, this is a clear case of short-measure. It is likely that the immediate shop staff are not aware of the reduction and so have not changed the original label.

More false pints

Just how often do half-litres get mistaken for pints and quadrouple-hectogrammes as pounds?! At a delicatessen close to where I live in Stoke Newington, London, they were displaying a bargain price of 29p/pint of organic milk, when those cartons were actually half-litres. I informed them that those were not pints, but that they were 'cartons of metric rip-off'. Just remember: wherever possible, DON'T BUY METRIC!
