Starbucks, the North American coffee-shop chain where you can buy 1/2lb coffee jars and 2fl oz shot glasses with ounce gradations, has started selling its coffee in 250g packs in the UK. Which is a nuisance if you own one of their coffee jars, or their top-of-the-range electric coffee-grinders, which has a hopper at the top which takes exactly 1/2lb of coffee beans. It means you're left with a handful of beans that won't fit in. I've sent them an email, but as yet no reply.
