| - Webmaster - could you re-enable the "order by" cluse so that the date of posting is ordered correctly?
This forum is difficult to keep up to date with!

The messages are ordered so the thread with the most recent contribution goes to the top of the list. The dates that you see on the list to the right are merely the dates the threads were started.

Within the computer the dates are possibly stored in accordance with the ISO 8601 recommendation ie
YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss or YYYYMMDDhhmmss
This format has the follwoing advantages:
1. It is easy for a computer to sort.
2. It removed the DD-MM-YYYY (UK) and MM-DD-YYYY (US) ambiguity
3. It is all-numeric, so is international
