Good team performance

Last night at Ilkeston was a good all round workmanlike performance by City, two goals from corners by the maestro Kevin Wilkin, the first was his trademark glancing header, the second looked to be bundled in but they all count, and the second goal killed the game really, although to their credit Ilkeston put us under a some pressure midway through the second half. I never thought they would get anything though. Our defence was superb, Colin Vowden was a rock. Midfield was better, Skelly and Wilson looked a useful combination with the two speedy wingers either side. In the first half we looked like opening them up at every attack, very encouraging. We should have been 4-0 up by half time. Three very welcome points

I agree that we totally dominated the game. I know it's been said on here before that there are never any easy games, but last night Ilkeston were VERY poor. Take nothing away from City though, we looked very dangerous going forward and solid at the back, however we could have easily come unstuck had we not had a proffessional approach. Good to see Wildey and Leon back in the team.
Wilkin should be knighted!!!!

We done City

Hayes on the bench. YES!!!

Finally (does Batch really not read this forum ????) he has dropped Hayes and even brought Nightingale on as a sub, in front of Hayes !!! Whats happening ?? Its what most of us have been saying for weeks.Great news

I am very happy for Kev who keeps popping the goals in, but just one slight concern -we really need other players to score. If Leon or any other newer signings (or reserve players) could start scoring then surely we are secured a good final position this season.

We are creating chances in games and I hope Batch will concentrate his training on getting more bodies in the box when we attack and more players taking a chance at goal at every good opportunity.
