I can point to one reason why the Vols offense was less than spectacular this past year: lousy run blocking. How can it be that a former offensive lineman head coach cannot get better play from his line? I personally think that the crummy offensive line coach (Stephens?) from Florida has gotten them playing weak passive, stepping backwards pass protection, and they have forgotten how to lay the wood, and hit the guy in the mouth in front of them. Florida sure as heck never had much of a running game with this guy coaching the line, and his two years here have been just as bad. The play on the right side of the line in particular this year was pathetic. Unfortunately it was obvious to everyone except the coaches,as defenses took advantage of it. Sears should have played more at right tackle, and we should have played Douglas or anyone other than Respit at guard. We have the talent to get another good bunch of guys together for next year's line, especially if Munoz sticks around. Let's hope another couple of "men" show up to play with him.
