Richard and Chris, I appreciate your responses to my posts people used to post here all the time and now its every once in a while. I will try to clarify some of the things I stated in the other two posts. The Fresno st. isssue, what I am reffering to is the fact that when people play fresno state they take that game seriously they feel they will win but they know fresno stae will come to play. fresno has shown that they will beat you if you don't come prepared, kinda like southern miss also. UT is back to that stagewe developed through the 90's past that point to a powerhouse who contends for the title year in and year out. from 1996-20001 people feared UT football because they felt even before the game that that was a loss. It is not like that anymore I am saying UT has slipped back to a 2nd tier program who people feel will self destruct. thats what the clemson players said about UT following that loss last year, when they get down they fold, destruct, pick any metaphor. As far as competing year in and year out or going to the BCS being unrealistic, I say why not other schools do it look at Oklahoma, USC, Nebraska, etc. What I keep harping, griping whining about is not so much the wins and losses-really its the ugly ass way that UT plays football. It seems as though UT wins in spite of itself. Like it is so much more effort for UT to win a game than before like you have to literally will it to happen. I was surprised that UT won as many games this year as it did not because the talent coaching etc. but because they have become accustomed to losing and playing undisciplined football. I don't know how you don't see it. To address the next year theory, I am only going on my history, I am not pulling this stuff out of a hat. I guarantee you will see this same stuff next year. All that young team crap look back at the clausen years how many 3 and 4 year starters did we have, loads and still the same result. As far as the secondary how many interceptions has UT had, how many third and 21's have you seen given up especially at critical times, actually third and whatever. I bet statistically UT is one of the worst 3rd down teams on "D" in the league, why because the secondary always sucks. It has always been the weak link even when the "D" was good. I think your recent memory must have slipped by you obviously we do not watch the same games, I'll admit I do watch alot from a technical standpoint and therbye comment as such but it should be plainly obvious to even the casual viewer. I can't believe someone would watch a UT game as not come away saying man, they need help, that secondary got burned all night, not twice or man they have alot of penalties, or man that was stupid wht did he do that -again. I could go on and on I really am a fan I just wish the UT teams that were highly competative would show up again.
