Response to Preseason Predictions

After a few years of struggle in the key areas of offensive and defensive line depth, Tennessee looks very formidable this year. Sears is the flat out best offensive tackle in the league this year, and all we lack for a killer offensive line is a decent center (could the #1 center recruit in the nation contibute this year, as Sears did?) and for the monster at right tackle to live up to his size and be disciplined. We are dominate at guard in Smith and company.

Look for P. Harllison to put the PH in D this year at defensive end and pass rush, while we finally have better and real depth at tackle. The linebackers as usual are solid if not superb, and the secondary is bound to be vastly improved. Remember that Deron Jenkins gave up the big plays as a fresh and then shut down his corner until the pros. Hefney is obviously a natural at corner, and he should stay there and let Cambell and probably one of the fab fresh compete at free safety. If not for the schedule, I would say that we were a legitamate #2 team in the country. Unfortunately, Death Valley, Notre Dame, and our beloved Crimson friends undoubtably present our greatest challenges (in that order). As for the Gayturds and their sorry coach and qb, I say get ready for the SEC bitch, cause the swamp is our new home. Go Big Orange!
