Look for Robert Meachem to step it up this year. After sitting out a year with a knee injury, he returned last year to lead the team in receiving yards with 459. Tony Brown, who is gone now, along with Jayson Swain, returning, both had 388 yards; CJ Fayton had 379 yards. Meachem had been compared to Carl Pickens in his overall ability and athleticism. With the increased confidence and experience, Meachem could see his numbers rise even higher this year as he becomes the Vols #1 "go to" guy.
Jayson Swain will always be where the playbook says he should be... and he has the ability to find the opening against tight coverage. CJ Fayton is best known for his occasional circus catches, while Chris Hannon is known for his blazing speed (under 4.3). If Bret Smith can keep himself out of trouble, he will shore up what may prove to be the best corp of wide receivers the Vols have ever had.
The only question marks at receiving are the tight end and running back...
