Hello vol-fans and others alike,
I am very curious about a few polls naming Tennessee as the number 2 team in the nation. I am also wondering exactly why Gerald Riggs Jr. has been named as a Heisman candidate.
First of all, Tennessee has always played all division 1-A teams to that respective team's abilities and usually does a lot better when ranked out of the top ten. It seems as if we need a vendetta against pollsters when ranked lower than we should be. On the other hand, Tennessee has been known to develop a "big-head" when ranked above 5 nationally. Just wondering if anyone has any feedback on this topic.
For my second topic, Riggs is not even academically eligible at present to play football, much less win the Heisman trophy. If he does, however, get eligibility, let us not forget that we had a very deserving Peyton Manning that, because he plays in the southern part of the United States, would have never won the trophy anyway. Once again, any feedback on either of these topics would be appreciated. Thank you, Scott J. Caughorn
