Put a competent lineman at center, please.

Douglas or Smith should start taking the lion's share of snaps at the crucial center position. Look what happened when Respert was out last year against Notre Dame, and the disaster that ensued. We can always find a decent left or right guard that will have less of a negative impact when he screws up, but we need an experienced and tested lineman snapping the ball and blocking up the middle (especially on the power I-formations that the old ball coach loves so much). I hate to second guess the ex-offensive lineman, but I do believe that there is enough depth to take up the slack at guards.
