of the ball ought to cross the line and slap our Wide Receivers and Running Backs. I don't care how inept Randy Sanders is, that doesn't explain receivers dropping passes that hit them in their hands or RBs fumbling the game ball. I'm not defending Coach Sanders, but with the alleged talent on this Tennessee team- my mother ought to be able to coach them. Personally, I feel this "offensive team" has only been "offensive" to its fans. It will take a little bit more than a coaching change to solve this funk. Let Simon, Mahelona and Haralson tee off during the next week's practice on a few of these guys for every dropped pass or fumble they have... . Even with Coach Randy Sanders, we should have won that game. We had the opportunities, and we fumbled them away. We had a couple of big passes that were just dropped. Sure, ultimately it goes back to coaching; however, Sanders didn't fumble that carry or drop a single pass last weekend.
On the other hand... kudos again to our defense. Missing the best athlete on our team (Jason Allen), and they never really broke. They kept Bama from breaking the big play all day. The Defensive Secondary's player of the day was, of course, Brodie Croyle and his consistently overthrown passes to open receivers deep down the field. Still, our Defense played very well overall. And yes, kudos to... our return team. If I'm not mistaken, they only had 1 block in the back or holding call during the runbacks. That is incredible. Did someone actually make them run sprints in practice these previous two weeks or what? Up to the past weekend they had had penalties on over 90% of the returns.
I'm through venting... for now.
"Mahelona, meet Mr. Riggs. He lost us the Bama game last Saturday. I understand you and Haralson have a special treat for him."
