Response to Just a note on Coaching plus players

I, like the rest of you, suffered though a dismal season in which each drop pass, each fumble in the end zone, each penalty after a positive play, caused much frustration. I have followed “the goings on” of this group for several years and only now have I chosen to respond to the increasing negativism that I read in here day after day. I have followed Tennessee football longer than most of you have been alive as well as graduating from UT. Believe me when I tell you there were times much worse than this year. Being ranked #2 in the nation and being blitzed by Archie Who 38-0 in Oxford was not a wonderful feeling especially sitting in all that blue and Tennessee never fully recovered from that debacle. To what end does all the negativism and name-calling produce? There are enough rival SEC fans around who supply all the negatives and name-calling needed to this board. It would seem that when Hannibal is at the gate you would rally around the flag instead of throwing rocks at the gate keepers. I think it is time for a transition from fair-weather fan to true fan to take place in this board. Constructive criticism is one thing. Temper tantrums are another. Just for idle conversion, name any team that has gone without some kind of implosion. Texas? Oklahoma? Ohio State. Florida State? Southern Cal? Florida State did not have a banner year losing to 4 unranked teams. I don’t see Bowden’s head on a stake? The addition of Coach Cut to the staff will provide something missing during the Sanders era, attention to detail and discipline. Having coach football for 25 years, I can attest to the principal of doing it right, every time and “my way or the highway”. I have personally seen what that kind of philosophy will do and am confident it will do the same for the Vols. So, instead of calling Ainge a dummy, find something constructive to say. Even championship quarter horses with impeccable linage must be trained correctly or they become just ordinary. Cuttlip has the tools to train him properly.

ps what is BOC VolEnforcement Committee anyway?
