Even during the 5-6 of 2005 the defence was the only thing that got them 5 wins!!! Yeah they could have been better in spots last year and definately seemed to wear down as the year progressed. But in usual co"Vol" know-nothing style you probably were watching 3's company re-runs instead of the Air Force game where the defence lost arguably the best run stopper in the country and potential 1st rounder next weekend in Justin Harrell. The '06 defence also had 3 brand new starters at LB with the departures of Simon and the rest after the '05 season. I know you're asking yourself "Who's Simon???"
Losing the best player in the unit in Harrell will have a negative effect usually....a$$.

Chavis has vowed to have a much more physical and active defence last year. That's what they need...some tweaks and changes in attitude, not a complete overhaul.
