Not going to happen...

...a 7 win season is equivalent to "throwing in the towel" as far as this year goes. Tennessee will improve, and the defense will come around. However, it won't excuse what happened against the Bears. That loss will serve a purpose, however. Our defense was supposed to show the Cal offense "what it takes to play football for the University of Tennessee Volunteers." Instead, they discovered that they weren't quite ready "themselves" to play football for the University of Tennessee Volunteers. Everyone, including the coaches, will have to step up their own expectations of themselves and their teammates in the coming weeks. I suspect we will see a much different defense beginning with So Miss.

If we finish with just 7 wins this year, someone will lose their job.
