| thus far, will be the UT-UGA game, I believe. With the East wide open, it will be every team's to win or lose. It is like a single elimination tournament in the SEC east from here on out. Very exciting!!!
5 games into the season and there is still a lot of ?????? on defense and special teams coverage.
Scorecard as I see it:
offensive line, pass protect - A
off. line rush block - D
QB play - A
running backs - B
off. overall - B
D-line, pass and run - F
Linebackers - D-
secondary - C- (Hefney & Berry would get higher marks)
Def. overall - F (main reason for both losses)
Special teams coverage - F
Punting - B (would have been higher if not for the punt to Jackson-Cal)
Coaching off. - C ( would be higher, if we could run the ball)
Coaching def. - F
The way I see it, even with our anemic rushing stats, the offense has played good enough to win and the Defense has stunk up the field, include kick and punt coverage with this.
If we can get a little more help from the D this Saturday, we will probably be alright.
If we stretch the field, we will probably see improvements in the run game. If we stay with bubble screen passes, the defense to stop the run(ie 8 men in the box) will be effective to stop the run and the small dump passes.
Close game, if Def. doesn't show up.
UT - 31
UglyA -27
