retired after the '97 season but not before dismantling Spurrier's Gators in the '95 NC game 62-24. I think if you do what he did as well as he did it, the "era" becomes irrelevant. His defenses were known for their toughness and endurance. They liked to pop you in the mouth, bloody your nose, and then dare you to get up off the ground..., so to speak. They were as much responsible for his success as the "run you over" offense. They were always very physical on both sides of the ball. They simply wore the other team out.
I didn't much like Nebraska or Coach Osbourne. But I have to respect him.
