The split workout that you have explained in a earlyer post is great.
But I dont cant find the time to do the daily routine you do.
So I just stick, for now, to the weighttraining routine.
I think this will give good results anyway.
When I have more time I can try to incoperate the daily workout.
Just have a few question about endurance training to.
Suppose I train with weights on monday, wednesday and friday (as you suggested) and do my martial arts training on thuesday, thursday and, if I have the time, on saterday to, what is the best time to incoperate for example running into the routine?
Other question: do you think running is important?
(I dont mean long distance running buth with interval).
Is it possible to start with running in the morning and then later on the day do the weighttraining routine.?
Or would this interfere with building up muscle (as you always read, when you are training for strength you have to cut down on cardio). Do you think thats true?
Or maybay its just good to get the endurance training from my martial arts training (I do lots off conditiong in my martial arts workouts, ending with a few rounds of kicking and punching the heavy bag).
Maybay it looks like a crazy question but I want your opinion about all the supplementary trainig that is neccasary for martial arts. Hope you can understand my questions. (Its still hard to realy put down on paper in Englisch for me).
I think running, or at least jogging daily, is great for the martial artist. I personally do not do it because of the fact that I herniated a disk in my lower back (L5/S1) when I was twenty-eight years old. Since that happened, I have had to structure my training to not only heal the injury, but to avoid recurrence of the injury. Running or jogging is too jarring to my spine, so I try to avoid that excess impact. I instead prefer to skip rope, as I can control the impact, and as long as I stay on the balls of my feet, no problems come from it! If you can take about thirty minutes a day to devote to cardio training (running, rope skipping, stair climber, glider, etc.), by all means go for it! If not every day, at least every other day!

"What is Jeet Kune Do (JKD)? Chinese martial art, definitely! It is a kind of Chinese martial art that does away with the distinction of branches, an art that rejects formality, an art that is liberated from tradition." __Bruce Lee
thanks again for your quick reaction.
Great that you always find the time to react so fast and honest.
Since you answer all the questions so great I have another one.
I read a lott about Mike Mentzer training.
His training should be short (but intensive) and should be great to supplement martial arts training.
what do you think off it?
Or do you think its more for bodybuiders?
suppose that I just want to do strengthtraining 2 times a week and then full-body-workouts (I thinks thats better then splitting it up or not?).
So I train with weights on, for example, mondays and fridays, then thuesdays and thursdays for martial arts training and wednesday and, if I can find the time, saterday's a little bit off running combined with bodyweight exercises such as push-ups an sprints.
Do you think thats a good weekly routine?
And if so can you help me with putting together a whole bodyroutine wich is good for martial artist?
Hope you dont mind all these questions. But when I train with weights 3 times a week and practice martial arts 2 times I think my focus is more on weighttraining then on martial arts.
And martial arts is my thing, if you know what I mean.
I am limited on time this morning so I have to make this quick! As for the Mike Mentzer training methods, I have never really looked into it. John Little seems to think it is good, as he has written an entire book on it! As I already outlined for you, however, I have my own routine, which is all I can really recommend to you. I have told you what I do, now you have to bend that to make it fit your schedule and work for you! I say it is best to train martial arts EVERY DAY, and weight training three times a week and supplementary training every day! That is the way to achieve maximum results in a minimum amount of time. Take that as you will and do with it as you please, but that is the best training advice I can give you! Now I'm off to the kwoon to do my morning exercises! Have a GREAT day!

Thank you very much for explaining.
The thing that I like about your routine is that it as so compleet (strength, underarms, abs etc).
So I think I take your advice and follow your programm 3 times a week.
I cant say how great I find it that you are so honest about your routines
Realy appriciated it.
Have a good day to and I keep you informed about my progress.
