Bil Sao vs. Sat Sao...question for Sifu Davis

Hi Sifu!

I am like Lance. This may be a blonde question.
I was re-watching your vol. 9 tape on Basic
Trapping Hands and you executed a Sat Sao parry
(I believe), which looked much like a Bil Sao.
How much difference is there between the two?

Hello Dick!

Sat sao is a palm down hand edge strike. Bil sao is a thrusting hand parry. The mechanics of each are totally different! One is designed purely to strike someone, and the other is designed to stop or deflect an incoming attack!
