Hello Everyone!

Due to a recent series of comments on here, I feel compelled to make some points! First of all, this is how I make my living and my time is very valuable to me! If anyone doesn't like what I charge for training, find someone else to train with! I have spent well over half of my adult life (and tons of money) learning everything that I possibly could in every way that I possibly could about Bruce Lee's martial art, and sacrificed a lot to be where I am today! I still go out of my way to acquire ANY piece of knowledge that could improve my skill or make me a better instructor. And yes, I am still learning! EVERY DAY I try to learn something new about this art! That is what I do! That is ALL that I do! I don't have time to waste on other things, especially training in every other martial art under the sun to please someone else! JEET KUNE DO is what I do! If you want JEET KUNE DO, come to me! If you want a hodge-podge blend of martial arts and philosophies, go find someone who does that sort of thing!

Allow me to make something else perfectly clear! I am not into philosophy AT ALL! I am not into Eastern religions AT ALL! I am a Christian, and I have a strong faith and belief in God! I do not, however, use this or any other martial arts discussion forum to try and impose my religious beliefs on anyone else, nor do I expect anyone else to come onto my forum and discuss their religious beliefs, especially when they are radically different than mine! That is a BLATANT INSULT to me and ALL that I stand for and believe in!

This is NOT a religion forum! This is NOT a philosophy forum! This is NOT a space provided for someone to come on here and insult me, the OWNER of this forum! All who are here to discuss JEET KUNE DO and PRACTICAL, REAL WORLD APPLICATION of Bruce Lee's fighting methods, as well as fitness, nutrition and other aspects of attribute enhancement are more than welcome! If you want to spout philosophy, go find a philosophy based forum where someone actually may want to hear what you have to say! I DON'T! I hate to have to be so blunt, but I just DON'T CARE! Not only do I not care, I just don't have time for it! This is about self defense ... personal preservation! NOTHING ELSE!

I call what I teach HARDCORE Jeet Kune Do! Why? Because ALL WE DO is train to develop our skills in BRUCE LEE'S fighting methods! Everything that you need is there! All you have to do is just reach out and take it! Now, if you believe differently, that is just fine! BUT, this is not the place for you! I hope I have made myself PERFECTLY CLEAR here! That having been said, best wishes to everyone on your personal search for your own martial way!

Too many people don't understand that knowledge is expensive. That is just how it is. For example, You want to be something (Doctor, lawyer, engineer PROFESSIONAL MARTIAL ARTS INSTRUCTOR.......) it will COST YOU. Nothing new here? Anyone know of a college /school that is free? I HAVENT!

For those with the attitude that knowledge is cheap, ask yourself this! >>> Is your time worth anything to you? Sure is. Is your education and years of study to get that knowledge costly and worth much to you? SURE Is! If someone wants to get that information from YOU, which you've spent TONS OF MONEY, TONS OF SACRAFICE to obtain, YOU will want to be compensated? DAMN RIGHT YOU WOULD! NUFF SAID.

The reality of the matter is that it is verry costly no matter who you train with. For instance if you trained with Jerry Poteet you would pay $200.00 per hour. Sifu Lamar has spent countless years, days, and hours also not mentioning the cost in researching and training in order to bring the world's greatest martial arts to this state, wich if not for him it would not have been here except for all the fakes. so therefor all I have to say is KEEP BLASTING. EVEN THE HEADS OF THOSE WHO DO NOT LIKE IT, because all they are going to do is run their mouths anyway. This type of person will probally not train very long so I would not waste my time or breath on him. HAVE A GREAT DAY, and REMEMBER, YOU CAN'T STOP WHAT YOU CAN'T SEE!

i am just really curious where can i find these: hodge-podge blend of martial arts and philosophies you speak of?

You should already know the answer to that one ... all over the Bax forum of course! LOL Seriously though, people do have some really screwed up ideas as to what Jeet Kune Do is all about!

What I dont get is, why everyone is against everyone elses thoughts on JKD haha. Why do you go on Bax if you dont agree with them? I'm not on there any longer, because it mixed me up. However again there are many smart people on there such as Glover, or the Wednesday Night guys. Hmm... you gotta take the punches to win a fight i suppose.

Say what you want about my forum but it is the place where people come for JKD talk without worrying about being snowed over by one alleged almighty bearer of the truth. Lamar Davis II knows a lot. He has trained with a lot of people and has made a life out of teaching JKD. However, there are many other knowledgeable people who have spent as much time in the art as Lamar or have comparable experience (if not under multiple instructors, then at least with one single instructor for a longer amount of time). The forum but it has been around since 2002 and will continue to thrive with new ways to reach other sources of interest of JKD and Bruce Lee. Forums pretty much preach to the choir and involve a small circle of people. The JKD Brotherhood forum and organization seeks to expand beyond forums and branch out to all practitioners of martial arts who have an appreciation for Bruce Lee and the legacy he left behind with his movies.

This is Lamar's den and he can run it as he see's fit. I agree that while everyone has te right to free speech, that Lamar has a right to curb that speech if he finds it personally insulting.

Ian, I was unaware that you had left the forum due to confusion. I do remember suggesting training under Lamar. It appears you have decided to do so.

Good luck and remember, while Lamar offers a multi-dimensional look at JKD via his different instructors over the years, his way is by no means the be all or end all of JKD. I am sure Lamar will agree.

Yes I did go with your decision on training with Lamar. I chose to leave the forum, because of to many instructors. Maybe that sounds idiotic, however I thought it would make sense to learn from one instructor instead of 5 different ways from 5 different instructors. Just my thoughts.

All one ever gets there is "snowed over by one alleged almighty bearer of the truth." It just so happens that different people take turns claiming to "know" the true way. Don't get me wrong, it is entertaining at times. Mainly the times when literate people are posting comments but that is neither here nor there. The bottom line is that if a person doesn't know jack about Jeet Kune Do and they go to the Bax Forum, confusion shall ensue. How can one not get confused with all of the Truths, Gates, Ways, and Its that are spewed forth on a daily basis.

All in all I don't really have a problem with the forum. It's fun. It's exciting. Kind of like when those skin heads hit Geraldo over the head with a chair. That kind of fun. Chaotic.

A LITTLE BIRD TOLD ME TO VIST. That whole post was marred with problems.

Anyway, as far as comparing the forum to the episode where Geraldo was hit with a chair...I can live with that.

Hey Bax, just so you know I have nothing against you or your forum. I enjoyed talking on your forum. However as a new student to Jeet Kune Do I dont think I should be there to get confused. Different teachers have different solutions, and it would just screw me up. however maybe it would help out. Different ideas, will give me the option of picking the one that works for me.

Don't worry about it! We all get in a hurry sometimes and mess up with our typing! I know it happens to me a lot! I just try to take time to read back over things so I don't end up editing over and over and over!
