I don't mind anyone posting on the forum, but in keeping with Bruce Lee's saying that you should "honestly express yourself", I will ask that everyone please use your REAL NAME and also include your email address with every post! From now on, any post made that the identity of the poster is in question or there is no email address included will be immediately deleted! I try to run a clean, honest, direct forum here, and will not allow this forum to degenerate to the level of some forums I have seen! We certainly aren't as busy as some forums, but at least our content is decent for anyone to read! Please help me out here people!

This is Matt, your webmaster. The problem with posting an e-mail address is that spammers are likely to pick it up. I never post a valid e-mail address on a forum for this reason... I already get too much spam.
I can certainly understand where you are coming from, but this forum is pretty much limited as far as who all knows about it. Your email address gives others who practice Hardcore Jeet Kune Do an opportunity to contact you outside the forum, in case there is something more sensitive they need to discuss that cannot be posted on the forum! Also, who knows, someone who is an Instructor in the organization may want their own website, which could lead to more business for you!

Sifu, I asked yesterday if Bruce Lee had incorporated the Kickboxing Series that we practice in JKD Concepts and you did inform me that was instituted by Guro Dan Inosanto, however, since I have been training in Jun Fan/JKD Concepts, I was curious to what extent boxing is emphasized in the Original Jeet Kune Do that you teach?
Along the same lines, did Bruce Lee and Muhammed Ali ever meet and exchange ideas, as some of the footwork looks similar?
From boxing tools, we have the cross, hook, uppercut and shovel hook. We have a jab but it is delivered differently than a boxing jab. For defense and evasion purposes, we use the slip, duck, shoulder roll, palm stop, smother, snapback and bob and weave. While we do use some boxing footwork (such as the sidestep and circling step), JKD footwork has more of a fencing influence than boxing. To my knowledge, Bruce Lee, although he studied Ali's movements on film, never actually met or worked with him.

in the book it have a page where it have the scedule of one day of bruce, like train my muscles this amout of time and this hour then throw 50 punches etc etc, and then talkng whit mohamed ali on the phone so i guess they exchanged ideas at least and i hurd to that bruce studied his movements on video.
sifu lamar, what do you mean when you say you use the jab differenly?
In Jeet Kune Do, the lead hand punch is fired with a vertical fist and the elbow down, as opposed to boxing's horizontal fist with the elbow out. A Jeet Kune Do jab is pretty much just a straight lead thrown with less penetration (emphasis on speed).

Yeah, I have been trained to throw the jab with a vertical fist and a snap. It was very unatural initially, however, I prefer to punch veritcally with my jabs and hooks actually. I have more of a boxing background so it was different, but structurally it is more secure for me and I am completely comfortable now. I am always thinking about my Wing Chun principles anyway, even when training Jun Fan/JKD.
