Hey Sifu,

Your HKJKD Mook Jong by immortal has arms that are level to each other where the ones you make one arm is higher than the other. I am wondering if there are any advantages/disadvantages to either design? I am building my Mook Jong today so wanted to make it the best design possible.

Building a Mook Jong

I guess you have only seen photos of my mook jong that I build, but in person the arms are closer to being level that you can probably tell from photos. Building a mook jong is not easy, and the arms have to be positioned just right, or it offsets your whole training experience, teaching you BAD HABITS instead of you getting what you are supposed to from the training!

Arms

January 6 2008, 11:43 AM

Hi Tony!

If you look closely, one arm is angled down a little bit and the other is angled up just a little bit. This makes them closer to level.

Re: Arms

I see that now. I thought that was the case but its hard to tell from a picture. One last question please. What is the minumum and maximum distance the tip of the top arms should be from each other? I have instructions for building this thing. The pipe I have and the arms I purchased dont match the details listed on my drawings and making adjustments is a pain in the neck to say the least.
