| With the recent post about trapping and some help from black belt mag I began to think about Broken Rhythm.
Trapping is it a form of broken rhythm?

Well, I wouldn't consider it broken rhythm, but if the guy doesn't (opponent) doesn't know how to trap but you do, you will upset his rhythm.
Personally when I think of broken rhythm, I think of the little boy in the church choir who can't seem to clap on the down beat, and disrupts everyone else :)
In all seriousness though, I don't see trapping as broken rhythm but a technique to disrupt the opponents rhythm. |

I would add that it also disrupts the opponent's structure, his confidence, and, indirectly, his face.

The main reason to trap is to remove an obstruction.
Beat 1 : If a punch was blocked it would stop the forward progression but not the forward energy.
Beat 2 : The trap removing the obstruction
1/2 Beat: The punch landing, because the forward energy was never lost once the obstruction was removed the punch was release like a compressed spring making it faster than a beat.
I also agree with what you guys are saying in breaking the opponents rhythm thats why I started to question "Is it broken rhythm?"
