Welcome! Thank you for visiting the Chelation Therapy for Autism message board. This is a place for support, discussion and friendly debate. This board is designed for those who hold the belief that heavy metal toxicity and/or environmental exposures (ie: mercury/aluminum from vaccination) are the probable cause for regressive autism. This is the main topic of discussion but subject matter is not limited to chelation alone. This message board does not constitute medical advice. Consult your physician for medical advice.
chelation lotion?
by
i read an article in the "charlotte observer" regarding a type of chelation using a lotion. it claimed to not have the side effects or oral chelation. has anyone ever heard of this? what is the name of it?
Hi Anabelle. I,ve been using Sphingolin since a year. My dougter has Myelin antibodies and she respond fine to this terapy. Teoricly We are feding the killer cells by the gut with the spingolin and the damage of central and periferical nervius sistem is drastricly reduced. While Quelation Some mercury can induce autoinmune reactions as decribed so as a parent I recomended. The basic mielin protein literature describe no side efects and if works for your child you are stoping brain damage. Of course this must be a temporary terapy and quelation most advance further and the inmune system need regulation to stop autoinmune reaction, specially related to myeline and other cerebral cells. Good luck.
hello-
I dont know if you are refering to Dr paul Cutler from Niagara falls, NY and also has practice in Toronto area or not.
If this is who you mean, I see him for some 2 years now.
He is a genius!
I have mercury poisoning and also a high iron problem.
I was ill for many years with no diagnosis until i fortunately located Dr Cutler.
he figured out my problem in the first visit!
he is very knowledgable on iron problems.
Iron can be as like candy to infection and cause constant illness.
I was near unable to work, and I am now much healthier and on the mend.
i owe it all to this amazing man.
he also is treating a friend w/ lupus with good results and determined
a lifelong problem that my wife had-she is also now healthy.
Pls feel free to e-mail me and ask for more info.
If anyone can help you, Dr Cutler can!
get your child to him!

I know Arctic Cod liver oil, from Nordic Naturals, my son is using it, it is molecullary filtered, and is tested for heavy metals, it has 100% sure no heavy metals, and is orange flavored.
the web page is www.nordicnaturals.com
hope it helps!
Excuse my english is not very good!
I appreciate the information - I have tried nordic naturals before but I didn't know they had peach flavored until today. My son has cerebral allergies to lemon and orange. Thanks !!!
I think Kirkman lab makes a liquid cod liver oil. It has to be refrigerated and given with a vial. It tastes bad but you will eliminate the gelatin caps.
I hope this helps. God Bless.

HELLO EVERYONE
I HAVE A SON WHO IS 3 1/2 YEARS OLD WHO WAS DIAGNOSED PDD AT AGE 2. SINCE THAT TIME, HE HAS BEEN RECIEVING EARLY INTERVENTION SERVICES FOR OT,PT & SPEECH. WE ALSO HAVE HIM IN A WANNA PLAY GROUP FOR 4 HOURS A WEEK ALONG WITH 15 HOURS A WEEK HE WORKS WITH HIS TSS. MY WIFE HAS HAD HIM ON A GLUTEN FREE DIET FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS. HIS LANGUAGE SKILLS HAVE INCREASED, BUT I AM NOT SURE I CAN CONTRIBUTE THIS TO THE DIET OR JUST TO ALL THE SCHOOLING AND EXTRA HELP HE HAS BEEN GETTING. CONNOR STILL HAS MANY SOCIAL ISSUES THAT NEED TO BE ADDRESSED. MY WIFE AND I DO NOT KNOW ENOUGH ABOUT CHELATION THERAPY, TO MAKE A DETERMINATION IF IT WOULD BENEFIT HIM. COULD YOU PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THE PROCESS WOULD BE FOR TREATING MY SON WITH CHELATION THERAPY
THANK YOU
I am very much in the same situation as your self. My son was diagnosed with PDD at 2. He is now almost 3 and we are trying to get him on Gluten free diet but finding it hard. I am seeing a GP about Chelation therapy this week but also know very little about it. My son doesnt speak at all and am praying for his first words.
If I find some info on this therapy I will email you
Our son, Ethan is three and one half and was diagnosed at two and one half. He is receiving all the services as the afor mentioned. We ask ourselves the same question. Is chelation successful with this age group? Are there success stories? Are there situations where it did not work? Is there more that we can do?
My sone has been on chelation therapy for about 10 months and is doing very well. When we first began, he was not progressing in any of his therapies, the first 6 weeks were the worst of chelation therapy but after that he did very well, he now sleeps completely thru the night, he can now ride a bile, his processing delay is gone and follows instructions, the hardest thing has been the language. He has started saying one words sentences, but that is a start
My son is now 5 and has been on chelation therapy for about 10 months. When we first began, the first 6 weeks were the hardest. Those metals really got stirred up. After that the improvements were great. He has now learned to ride a bike, follows instructions, his processing delay of 15 minutes is now gone, he finally met his IEP goals, which he was unable to meet for more than 2 years and sleeps 12-14 hours every night.
This is brand new to me. My 9 year-old son has many autism symptoms, but a diagnosis of anxiety, sensory integration disorder, and a language based learning disability. How would I know if Chelation therapy would help him? What is involved in this therapy? Are there any side effects?
We saw our DAN doctor and had our son tested. He showed signs of heavy metals. We started our first round of DMSA just last week and wow! What a change. He started to asks for things without a prompt. I was rather surprised at how quickly the response was with our son. We are testing his urine to see the results, but already I'm convinced that this is working for us. We also have been on the GFCF diet for at least 6 months and our son check clear for bad bugs in the gut. I think that is very important that your child has a healthy gut before starting.
how do you get started with the testing. my 2 year old started regressing in everything at about 1 year of age and now has been diagnosed with autism. i think this therapy might help, but don't know where to start and what tests to do. any info would help.
please email me if you can give me any info. thank you so much and i am thrilled to hear of your son's progress.
lisa
I understand your concern. My daughter had been diagnosed at the age of 5. She had to have tubs in her ears due to having so much wax in her ear. I was told about chelation therapy by my daughter's teacher and she informed me that she heard that it really works. I have been researching on the internet about chelation therapy but there are no information on the outcomes of chelation. I hope that our children could come out of this heartful situtation.
First you have to do testingto see if your son is metal poisoned. You can do first a hair mineral analysis, if there is evidence of metal poisoning, you should find a Dan practitioner Doctor to see your child, my child is mercury poisoned, he had already 4 cycles of chelation with DMSA, and he is improving day , by day, after each cycle he is better, so it really works, its very important to detoxify them, the efect of this heavy metals on their nervous system is probably generating autoantibodyes against the Myelin basic protein or the gliofibrilar proteins, so if you stop the precipitating agent, the toxic metal, they will be better day by day, its important to begin this treatment before the age of 5 years, because by stadistics, when younger the child, better prognosis.
I heard about a chelation cream to use as a treatment instead of the IV treatment. However, I don't know the name or very little information about it. Has anyone ever heard of chelation cream ???
Debra
I know about glutathione cream, my son is using it, but this is not a chelation cream, he is on DMSA cycles, and also using glutathione cream. Glutathione is a very potent antioxidant, and helps very much in all the detoxifying process, he uses the cream because oral glutathione does not help in increasing plasmatic levels of glutathione, because it is absorved as the three aminoacids that form it: cysteine, glicine and glutamic acid, not as glutathione.
My son will turn 7 in two days and we are going to try chelation. We are having a problem finding a physician that is taking patients. I also want to be sure that we are using the best available chelator with the latest protocol. DMSA with ALA later seems to be the standard but I want to be sure that I,m not missing something. Thanks in advance for any and all responses.
Re: Is anyone familiar with oral DMPS for chelation?
by
The foremost authority is Paul Cutler, he is located in Niagara Falls N.Y. His toll free number is 1-888-233-3762 - I wouldn't trust anyone else with my child!
Hi, Paul Cutler is the local DAN! Dr. here , so I was excited to see your post. He is great, and reasonably priced compared to some other DAN! drs. in N.Y. Is he chelating your child?
my son is also about to turn 7 and we are investigating chelation. Do you have any answers? Did you find a doctor? Is it covered by insurance? How was he tested or was he? thanks, desperate for answers, Trina davis
Hi,
I'm not sure if I will get any respond to my message because I'm responding to a 3 year old message!
Anyway, I have've been looking for a message that has 7 year old autistic child and chelation. It looks like you did try chelation when your child was 7. My son is just turning 7 and we're going to try chelating him soon. so I wanted to know if you did chelate your child then, was there a success? and are you still chelating? we are going to use the DMSA. I guess i'm desperate to know because i've read that at this late age we may not see much improvement. Please let me know. thank you.
Hi,
I'm not sure if I'll get any responses to my message since i'm responding to a 3year old message.
Anyway, I've been searching for a message that talks about 7 year old autistic child and chelation and i read yours. it seems like you were going to do chelation. I wanted to know if you started it then and how successful it was/is?? are you still chelating?? I'm anxious to know because i've read that at this late age we may not see much improvement. they say the earlier the better for chelation.. please let me know. thank you.
Curious about chelation possibility for 30 month old son.
by
Hello,
Our 30 month old son was recently diagnosed as "moderately" autistic.
He is now on a GF-CF diet. We believe he may either have Celiac Disease (he has to be tested for this) or a leaky gut leading to malabsorption of his food. His diet was pretty poor prior to his change in diet (lots of processed foods).
He will shortly start taking a multi-vitamin, cod liver oil, and acidophillus.
I have to admit I do wonder whether the MMR or the other vaccines he had affected him negatively.
I did not notice a striking change, except 1) he was cranky upon waking from naps, whereas he never was before and 2) seemed to sweat profusely while sleeping, so much so that his scalp and hair were wet. Does anyone know if this excessive sweatiness is a sign of metal poisoning?
When I mentioned chelation to the DAN Dr. I brought him to he said there was only one really qualified person to do this and they were in Norway.
I guess I would first have to find out if indeed metals are a problem, then find someone who would be agreeable to doing chelation. Would it make my son feel sick, though?? He seems to be feeling so much better on the new diet I would feel terrible to make him feel ill.
Is there any way for a parent to successfully chelate their child at home using natural methods?? I have heard of letting children soak in a bath of epsom salts to draw the metals out.
I would welcome any feedback and also would like to know if anyone is aware of any Drs. in the Mount Vernon, NY; Yonkers, NY; or Bronxville, NY area (or Westchester County, NY) who would be open to the idea of chelation therapy.
Please look into a product called NDF. It is a natural detoxification system that has worked wonders for both of my children. Their is plenty of information about it on the website and I am sure your doctor would agree it is a safe and wonderful alternative to DMSA which can cause more problems. It is manufactured by BioRay, Inc. The website is www.BioRay2000.com.
Re: Curious about chelation possibility for 30 month old son.
by
We have been chelating for 10 months and my son is doing great. We fly in to Baton Rouge to see Dr. Cave once per year, and even met a mom and child who had chelated for 1 1/2 years and was caught up cognitively with his classmates. We are not there yet, but my son has progressed about 1 1/2 years in the first 6 months.
We're considering chelation therapy and looking for the nearest DAN practitioner. Does anyone have experience with Dr. Paul Cutler of Rochester and Buffalo, NY?
I went to see "Paul" for a year for a disease no one could treat here in Canada and the prognosis was horrid. Paul not only saved my life, he has increased my lifespan and my Doctors can't figure out why I'm still alive. If I can help you in any way with more details, just email me and I will be glad to help. I have referred many people to him and all are happy, healthier and eternally grateful to this man.
I have had great success with Paul Cutler; he is the reason that I am alive and healthier today when all the other specialists in my life had nothing but doom and gloom to say. I was diagnosed with two rare blood disorders; couldn't walk due to clots in my legs which prevented circulation and "statistics" told me I had four years to live and the surgeons here wanted to amputate my leg. That was in 1996, I have both my legs and have been able to return to work on a part time basis; Dr. Cutler helped my to beat the odds! If I can help in any way, please feel free to email me.
My name is Kate, and I'm almost 16. My little sister, Haley, who is almost 3, was just recently diagnosed with PDD. I dont really have anyone to talk to about it who understands what I'm going through, except my mom. I'm having a hard time accepting the fact that Haley actually had autism. I keep thinking it will eventually fade away, and she will become a normal child. I want to be assured that there is hope out there that she will get well, but I'm just not sure. When Haley was born, I kept thinking about how much I was gonna be able to teach her, and how I could be her role model, and how I could teach her to dance (because I'm a dancer). But now it seems all the dreams I ever had for her are smashed. I would love someone to talk to. If its for information about her condition, about treatment, about ways I can help, or just someone to talk to for support. If you think you'd like to talk to me, just e-mail me at my address. It's TXTBUTTERFLYTXT@AOL.COM
Thank You.
-Kate
Kate never feel alone. Unfortunately there is a river of tears out here that you can add yours to. My son is almost 7 and it breaks my heart to know the things that I expected us to be able to do together not only might not ever happen but that we,ve already missed so much of a normal childhood. Your right but your are a far cry from being the only heartbroken one. I and way too many others DO UNDERSTAND.
Hi Kate,
Don't go into depression about your child's autism. First, look into having her tested for metal poisoning. She may be heavy metal toxic and this can be reversed. Call Dr. Stephanie Cave in Baton Rouge Louisianna. She wrote a book on the trash and metals that are injected into our kids with every vaccine they take causing them to be poisoned with heavy metals and lots of people believe causes autism. It will open your eyes.Dr. Cave's phone number is 225-767-7433. She is booked for appts until Jan 2004 but maybe they could take your child earlier.
Good luck!

Thank you.
My son is almost eight years old, we have done two rounds of chelation and the second one pulled out very elevated levels of tin. What does this mean and where could he have possibly got this?
It has been awhile since we have chelate and I hope I remember this right. If not please someone correct it.
We are at a halt to treat my sons colon, and an H. pylori infection in his stomach. Poor thing.
My youngest had higher levels of TIN, and if I remember Dr. Holmes mentioned that you could look and look to find where the kids are getting it from and you're not going to find it.
The good news was that TIN is easier to chelate out, and the once you do remove the tin the kids show improvements.
She said that there is also a group of kids that for some reason seem to only have HIGH tin, "TIN KIDS" as she called them. Again once the tin was removed they showed improvements.
WE first visited Dr. Bock in March of 2001. My son had been diagnosed with PDD/NOS. We had seen prior to our seeing Dr. Bock several so-called experts who struck us as more hippie-dippie doctors without a real sense of what was going on. We are very satisfied with Dr. Bock who takes a scientific approach to his treatment. He uses an intelligent approach which focuses on several treatment modalities in order to try to get improvement. My son, Matthew has definitedly improved in Dr. Bock's care and I would highly recommend him to anyone (I actually do to people in McDonald's, in Stew Leonard's, etc.).
While one can never guarantee success, this one's worth a considerable shot.
H. Coleman
Yes, I took my 4 yr old autistic son to see Dr. Bock and to discuss the benefits of chelation in October 2002. We will see Dr. Bock again this Monday, Dec. 16, 2002 to begin chelation therapy.
I was impressed with Dr. Bock, who was recommended to us by Dr. Megson, a DAN practioner (and MD) who we see in Virginia. Bock seems to be competent and experienced. He has a very busy practice -- we had to wait long past our scheduled appointment the morning we went to see him. He spent sufficient time with us, however, and he answered all of my questions and carefully reviewed Eric's medical/developmental history. There are no pretenses about Bock. My husband was a little skeptical of the practice because they market and sell a number of nutritional supplements. Nonetheless, overall, we liked Bock and I think that it would be worth your while to see him.
Hi, I noticed that you also go to Dr. Megson in Richmnd, Va . We do too. I was wondering how long you had to wait in order to get you referral to Dr. Bock? Did you do MT promoter?
Thanks
Angela Joseph
HI,
We also have a son named Erik who is on the spectrum.
We heard Dr. Bock speak in October 2003 at the Portland DAN Conference. He was quite impressive.
We are considering flying all the way across the country to meet with him. Since it has been approx. a year since you started working with him do you still recommend him?
Would appreciate your reply. Hope your son is thriving!

PRESS RELEASE
September 30, 2002
For immediate Release:
Major Organizations Join Parents for Full-Page
Advertisement in the Washington Post.
After serious talks of placing a full-page advertisement in the Washington Post to address the rise in disabilities among children, three major organizations confirmed today that they will make substantial donations towards the $76,000 project.
Unlocking Autism, Safe Minds, and The National Vaccine Information Center have joined forces with JoAnne Pike and hundreds of parents, caretakers and vendors, to campaign for answers from the government about the growing number of vaccine-related disabilities among children in America. "Something big needs to happen before anything will change," says JoAnne Pike, Unlocking Autism Representative and mother of a child diagnosed with autism. "The government isn't hearing us. National media isn't hearing us. Lucrative drug companies are being protected. What we've got is a national crisis a silent one."
Safe Minds President Lyn Redwood believes the ad is an excellent way to take action. "We know it's time for something like this to happen, which is why we're standing behind it 100%. Our children have been exposed to one of the most toxic substances on earth, mercury, in excess of federal safety guidelines from mandated infant vaccines and now suffer with a wide range of physical and developmental disabilities and no one wants to discuss this fact. This will be one powerful message to the public and government officials if they haven't heard our message yet, they will."
Focusing on the simultaneous rise in vaccination rates, multiple vaccines and chronic disease and disability in the past 20 years, the goal of the ad is to educate the general public and notify vaccine lawmakers and policymakers that something needs to be done. Barbara Loe Fisher, co-founder and president of the National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC), the oldest and largest vaccine safety advocacy organization in America, agrees that something has to be done to get the public's attention. "We are not going to wait another 20 years for the answers to legitimate questions about why so many of our children are sick. We want to know why bright, healthy children are never the same after getting vaccinated and we are not going to give up until they give us credible answers."
Unlocking Autism President Shelley Reynolds is also ready to address the rise in disabilities, "Only ten years ago in the state of Louisiana, seven children per year received a diagnosis of autism. Today that number is 273. Keep in mind this is one small state. With these sobering numbers, it's unrealistic to believe that physicians, with more patients than ever before, have abruptly sharpened their diagnostic skills. After all, we're not seeing 1 in 250 adults with autism, but unfortunately this may be our fate if we do not take immediate action. The rise in autism is very real and extremely serious. It's time for government officials to heed the demands of thousands of parents who are anything but wrong."
Parents and caretakers of vaccine-injured children can take immediate action by contributing to the Washington Post ad. Visit http://www.unlockingautism.org or write to JPiker@aol.com. Caretakers are urged to include their child's first name and first initial of last name, age and diagnosis which will be displayed in the ad.

Unlike chelation which may described as a one dimensional sequestering process, the bacterially derived glycoproteins in PCA-RX bind heavy metals with three different types of bonds and include them within their latticelike framework (i.e., clathrate ) to ensure rapid transport from the body without furthur tissue interacitions. Because PCA-RX eliminates the source of the toxicosis, it can help in a meaningful

Autism News Clip from Texas...Awesome...a must view
by Shirley
Hi all,
I wanted to share this video clip with everyone. It is about 10 minutes to watch. It is a parallel of what happened with my son, Troy. The only thing is that there weren't many attorneys for autism/vaccine when we had put it together. So the argument of being enticed by attorneys was definitely NOT true in our case.
Also, it discusses at the end to "ask your pediatrician if you have any more questions"--Hey! Stop laughing!!!
I just saw this clip for the first time and could totally relate! This is so much like my 4yr old son, only I have 3 older children that are all fine. The only thing I realized that was different (after reading someone elses story) was that I never had a dental filling in my life until after I was 30. I was 31 when my 3rd child was born and I'd have to check records but I remember him being an infant when I got the fillings, but my autistic son was not born until until I was 34. So he's the only one with possible exposure to mercury from ME. Could that be the "straw that broke the camels back"? I have not had my son tested because until now in the back of my mind I knew the vaccines were related but I kept thinking it had to be more than that since none of my other children reacted to the same vaccines (I even have other children that received "multiple injections" at one visit because they were "behind" in vaccinations.) Now I need a Dr that I trust (and I am a sceptic) to help me decide what tests to have done. My son also appears to have the gluten/casein "opiate" problem and reactions to certain additives (red food coloring) that cause a lot of his behavior problems.
I've gotten information about the vaccine injury fund, and even went so far as to fill out a questionaire for an atty's office, but never pursued it because all the testing would be more than just a strain on us financially. Does anyone have suggestions on paying for testing without going bankrupt? (We've already done that just on therapy. LOL)
Thanks for "listening" and for any suggestions,
Lisa C
How did you go about seeking an attorney?? My 2yr old has autism, my 7 yr old aspergers. We are seeing a Pediatrician who specializes in autism. My 2yr old has had lots of tests. Some the insurance paid for, some we paid for and the ins. reimbursed a portion of. We know from the hair sample test ($45.00) that he has Mercury poisioning. The pediatrician has told us that he has the measles virus in his intestines. We are have begun loading zinc to prepare for chelation. I can give you more info on the test we have done and how much they cost. Which ones do the attorneys ask for?? We have done so many, which ones do you want to know about??
Hope to hear back,
Kevin and Virginia

1.5 Million Children Will Feel Your Love.
535 National Politicians Will Hear Your Voice.
And Three Words Will Come to Your Mind...
"It's about time."
We are the parents, grandparents, and caretakers of children who were
unnecessarily injured by organic ethyl mercury and other
immunosuppressors in vaccine inoculations. Autism, ADD, ADHD, asthma,
and autoimmune disorders are just a few of the results that we live
with day-in and day-out.
We are educated...focused...self-made researchers with an emphatic
drive to improve our children's lives. We will not turn our backs on
the truth simply because government-appointed science does not live
in our homes and experience our knowledge first-hand.
We want our children to play, speak, hear, smile, share, discover,
grow, love, learn, live. We want them to have clarity, comfort, a
sense of belonging, and most of all, healthy bodies. Maybe next year
they can finally have an ice cream cone or participate in an Easter
egg hunt. Although we accept our children for who they are, what we
don't accept is this disease that has stolen our children and
rendered their little bodies unhealthy. We need to take this
opportunity to be heard.
Currently, drug companies are being nurtured by certain members of
the senate. This may result in the removal of any accountability and
future responsibility on the part of drug companies. You could easily
spend $300 traveling to Washington DC to show your disapproval, or
you could simply spend $50 to include your child's first name, age,
and diagnosis in a full-page advertisement in the Congressional
section of the Washington Post.
This full-page ad will educate the public about how environmental
toxins have affected our children. Its message will also appeal to
senators and congressmen who can help our children today and in the
future. The more we band together, the more attention will be given
to our children who desperately need it. Please send a $50 tax
deductible contribution to include your child's first name, age, and
diagnosis on this ad. Then one day soon you'll be able to say to your
child, "I did this for you."
Be a part of the healing. Be a part of the hope. Contribute today.
Contributions by check should be made out to "Unlocking Autism" and
sent to:
