Hi - We have lived in a new house for just under a year and have noticed a large amount of dead black flies up there. Annoyingly they seem to have manifested themselves in the sunken spotlights and around the hatch up to the loft. On a daily basis there are always 1 or 2 flying around upstairs.

Having read your web site, I suspect that they are cluster flies and am keen to get rid of them. I have heard that the electric fly killers are unsuitable for use in the loft because the amount of dust may cause an explosion!

We live near Yeovil, is there anything you can do?

I think you are correct, but Hugh should be able to help youi.
EFK's can be used,it can form part of the treatment alond with residual insecticides, in old days vapona strips were good for this.
I would love to help you out but a long trip from Kent.
