Every spring I get them... in the loo and the bathroom. Little bugs with hard segmented shells. I think I found an adult yesterday - light brown, less than 0.5cm long. The babies seem darker and are always dead. Each morning hundreds of them on my loo floor. Any ideas what they are and what I can do to get rid of them.

Also I suffer from cluster flies in the loft, but also have bats so can't smoke bomb the flies. Any ideas? Perhaps I should start a bug zoo and charge for others to view my bats, bugs and flies!

Yuk

The little bugs sound alot like Woodlice but without seeing them it is very hard to tell.
If this is the case then warming up the area and drying it out may help.

Or perhaps you may be able to expand on their description.

As for the cluster fly. If the cluster fly are in large numbers in the loft it is possible to
use a vacuum to suck them up , yes I know its sounds daft but it can be done, you
need some form of insecticide in the cleaner something like DDVP strips.

It may also be possible to liase with the Nature conservancy council as they will allow
treatments to be carried out where bats are, if certain steps are followed to ensure the
bats are out at the time of treatment.

If I can help in any way please drop me a line
