Well here's the other side of the Vector preference. I've owned the same Suunto Vector for over 7 years and it has performed flawlessly in the Northern Hemisphere, in the Southern Hemishpere, at altitude, in extreme cold weather, extreme hot weather, kayaking / rafting in rivers, snorkeling up to 30 ft in the ocean and nearly everywhere in between. Never leaked, fogged or ever skipped a beat (except when I let the battery die). I generally abuse equipment and then throw it away when it dies--this watch has survived everything I have ever been able to do to it. I would buy another one in a heartbeat.
