| I try to use plyometrics (i.e. box jumps, medi ball, accelerations & stuff like that). Then mix in some basic heavy lifts for power (squats, deads, clean & jerk). I am a big fan of body weight resistence (pull-ups, dips, push-ups). Then you mix them in together for "rounds" of interval training to increase the heart rate. Then I try to get out for some LSD (long, slow, distance) every other week or so. It's basically a CrossFit type work-out, but I try to stay more in line with the GymJones.com philosophy of training.
I train in my garage and have built and 8' X 10' climbing wall to work my climbing specific strength along with iso training on a hangboard. I have tried to keep things simple, but I have bought a used exercise bike ($10), a used stair stepper ($15) and pulled a treadmill out of someones garbage that works great. Along with some used free-weights you can keep yourself out of a gym for A LOT less than a membership! And as a plus, you don't have to watch CNN or listen to Ultimate Dance Party 29.
