| Zach and I attempted Al West Peak today. The snow in Rock Creek was absolutely horrible today! It got better near 8500' or so, but once we got on the ridge, it was sloppy again. I've never seen snow that was 4 or 5 feet deep that you would step on and instantly sink to the bottom. It felt like walking in soup (not that I ever have walked in soup). Also, it was no different at 6am then it was at noon. Guess I missed the window...
The views of the north face of Borah made it worthwhile, what a location!
