Even though I've read and watched about everything to do with that Everest disaster, I still find it just as powerful, tragic, intriguing, and the like as the first time I read Into Thin Air during my sophomore year in high school. Odd as these things are, the book actually made me WANT to climb Everest - I was slightly obsessed for a while there. Now I can say with 99.9% certainty that I would never climb it, nor would I think I could even enjoy such an endeavor since me and the cold aren't on the friendliest of terms and I'm quite fond of oxygen. I'm fairly sure I would succumb to the cold mighty quickly. But it might be worth it to see that night sky with the stars sparkling above the summit - WOW!! Anyway, yeah, I thought it was very interesting and so sad for the families who lost their loved ones. Such torturing circumstances and drawn-out, lonely deaths...
