Response to First Greg, thanks for the response and info!

sic. Did you mean wolves?

Yes, I did.

I believe you may have misunderstood my earlier post, and that I really said something very different than what you appear to have responded to.

I'm not sure I follow your objection. We were talking about the reintroduction of animals, coyotes in specific and in response to your statement:
Funny, if coyotes have made it east, why not wolves, which were originally native to the State, and certainly have plenty of their primary prey to dine on here?

According to the PA Game Comish, coyotes came on their own and, as an aside, may have been native to PA. Also according to their statement, wolves, might NOT have been native, after all, which I thought was interesting and somewhat germane to the discussion. I went a step further in saying that -- even if wolves were native -- that the state authorities would never reintroduce them like they did elk. You might be objecting to my statement about purposefully reintroducing them to control game population, but that was somewhat in response to:
Does anyone know if they were reintroduced to control the state's deer herd, via fawn-predation, without the pack-attack-risk on live-stock of previously-native wolves?

No worries.

...suspect that as they become numerous here in PA, regardless of how they arrived, and regardless of their past history in the state, that they will become a factor in the deer population via predation on fawns, which are highly suitable prey for them.

That would be nice if it were to happen, but I have my doubts that they will thrive in sizeable numbers.
