Response to Aussie UFO mystery solved

but never reported because the object became identified. Two friends and myself were fishing at night after work at Lake Nockamixon. I looked up and saw a small orange light that appeared to be just over the trees. Here's a transcript from memory:

Me: what's that light up there?
R: I don't know.
J: What light?
Me: That light right there over the trees.
R: I think it's a plane.
J: WHAT LIGHT?

This continued for about 3 more iterations. Then it bacame obvious that the object was an plane. From my viewpoint the red and green lights mnerged into orange. R could only see the green light and J could not see it at all.

No frame of reference prevented me from seeing the actual altitude. Good thing we didn't have a video recorder. We probably would have run off with our UFO footage.

One of the problems with viewing lights at night through a camcorder as in the Austrialian story is that they do not focus well on point sources. So you can never really get a good view of something unless you disable the autofocus.
