Response to Late-age Mammoths

I found your message interesting concerning the late Mammoths.

FYI - the "Chemung River" which runs in to the Susquehanna River at Athens PA on the east end but runs westestwardly along what is referred to the "Forbidden Path" - has it's name "Chemung" derived from a Delaware word meaning "place of the big horn," and a huge mammoth tusk was supposedly found in it's riverbank.

The Chemung County Museum in Elmira NY has what they claim to be a mammoth tusk, even...

Also - while doing research on these mammoths, myself - I cam acrossed this page, which shows more respresentations of late mammoths....whether or not they are fakes, I have no way of knowing....
