Does anyone doubt that Behe understands evolution?

I think we can be very confident that Behe, and most of his cohorts, understands the Theory of Evolution very well. I think we can also be confident that most of them know it is a pretty true account of what happened and that the truth of Darwin's Theory is constantly being refined and expanded.

So why do these people seem ot have, or actually have, a disconnect with reality? Something is wrong for sure and I often wonder if this kind of thing is nothing more than a cynical way to become a large fish in hte pond that they swim. Behe has, afterall, gained some considerable fame and high status in his chosen circle. Why else, othre than madness, would a highly educated person so relentlessly persue so groundless a quest, a mug's game that in the long run will make himself and his associates look foolish and likely will damage rather than enhance religion.
